About
Welcomes to Sassy Stitchess! That’s me. Kaitlyn.

Time for an update! I’ve had this blog for a while now and my life has changed drastically since its beginning. At the beginning, I was just getting back into knitting after a 20 year hiatus (approximately). I was career gal, a grad student and a girlfriend. Now I’m a MPA, a wife, a mom and a piecemeal career gal. I work in a yarn and fabric shop (Brooklyn General) part-time, write grants for nonprofits part-time, knit, sew, embroider, mother, and a bunch of other stuff. It’s all squeezed in pretty tight, but that’s how I like it.
The coolest thing about a craft blog, as this has evolved, is meeting people just like yourself who are, at once, completely different from yourself. I am a founding member of the Spiders–a group of kick ass ladies who knit and play together. Turns out a lot of us live in Brooklyn, which is muy convenient.
So, there are a lot of knitting/craft blogs out there. Thank you for choosing to visit mine. Content-wise, I’m not changing the world here. Not even a tiny bit. I’ve got some useful patterns, an etsy shop I barely update, a Gallery with who-knows-what in it, and some likely outdated notes on my projects and stash. The best part about my blog is probably its design, which was done by Gleek.
Some technical notes: I sew on a Singer Futura CE-200. I also embroider on this machine. I use AutoPunch, Hyperfont, and the Futura Softwware than came with the machine. I am happy to answer questions about any of the embroidery stuff. I’m also happy to answer knitting questions–did I mention that I teach knitting? Go ahead and ask.
