ravelry…
2007 @ 9:53 am
I’ve talked a bunch about Ravelry here and in light of a recent letter posted by the developers, I hope I haven’t made anyone feel left out. I am very happy to be a part of the beta version of the tool and I in talking about it I hope to generate excitement, not spurn jealousy. If not being a part of Ravelry up to this point has made you angry at all, please read this. Casey and Jess and doing an amazing job and are keeping up with demand as they can. It is obvious that the online knitting community has been poised for something like this–waiting a little longer won’t hurt anyone and will make the tool even better.
Just wanted to put that out there… if you haven’t had a chance to look at Ravelry yet, check out the tour.

I don’t get it. Are people actually upset? I read one comment on someone’s blog that appeared snarky (something about feeling as insecure as in junior high), but that commenter later explained that she was joking. Somehow her comment got amplified… I overheard people talk about that commenter and it was clear that the whole thing was misunderstood. I think it’s the same thing here: Jess and Casey got *one* email from one unhappy person (out of what? 4,500 people on the waiting list?). One. I understand that they’re sleep-deprived and over-worked, so they got defensive (I’d do the same!).
