I can’t believe how long the Street has been around. 40 years! Makes me feel OLD. My mother confided (finally) that this was a precious hour of every day when my sister and I were small. I have to say, I feel the same way. While children’s television has come so far in the last 40 years, nothing beats Sesame Street. The characters are great, even though it’s taken me some time to get used to the newer additions. Every kid can identify with someone. Each season’s theme is clearly identifiable, yet doesn’t mess with the comforting structure of the program. Ahhhh, I could go on and on.
What was your favorite? Maia is an Elmo lover, but I think Cassie prefers Murray… I’m with Cassie on this one.
I remember being soooo excited whenever the Twiddlebugs would appear.
I also absolutley adored Barkley. I always though he must be super soft and would imagine curling up for a nap with him.
Now I want to go home and watch old school episodes of Sesame Street!
