Hemming blind…
2009 @ 7:41 am
A good friend made this adorable dress (See&Sew B4765) for Cassie over the summer. It was a great day–no kids and sewing at her place! She is blessed with boys, but loves little girl things. I am the happy recipient of her girly efforts. The hem was left undone that day so that I could properly measure it to Cassie later. As it was too big, it got stuck in the stack of to-do fabric business. And today I broke out my blind hem foot and got it done.
Now, I’ve attempted to use the blind hem function with varied, mostly poor, results. The foot made all the difference for me. It is seriously invisible. I recommend it–well worth the $10 when you are sewing lots of little girl dresses.
I used this sweet video between pals (hi Eileen!) to help me position the fabric and went to town. There is also a nice video on the singer website on the use of the blind hem foot.
