crumpets and moving on
2005 @ 4:59 pm
This project is going so quickly that I am not even going to start a category about it. I am already out of the cable section and almost done with the endless stockinette skirt! Thank goodness this is for a small being. I cast on for this on Christmas Eve and will be done before New Year’s Eve–a personal record to be sure.
I’m using swapped stash wool for this project–yay! It’s Rodel Monaco, 50% Baumwolle, 50% Schurwolle, which I figure means 50:50 cotton/wool blend. It’s quite nice and I love the color, a soft turquoise. I decided to cast on 12 stitches less than the 120 called for in the 6 mos size… I want her to be able to wear it sooner rather than later. I’m also going to skip the intricate elasticizing of the bodice cuz I think that might be a little uncomfortable for a wee one. Photos to come!
I don’t think I ever mentioned that the gleekster brought me an awesome gift from Japan. While she was away, I managed to keep her plants alive. A minor miracle! I am the proud owner of a coveted pink Clover Chibi!
I was reminded to blog the chibi when I pulled out my 29″ size 5 addi naturals in the event that Stephanie needs to borrow them for her next (awesome!) project. Much to my dismay…
I bought the damn thing in OCTOBER and it’s already BROKEN. grrrr. Then, instead of using this:
I had to use this:
All’s well in the end. I just have to remember to pick up some more crazy glue–that tube was dried solid!

Hey! The same thing happened to me with a pair of Addi naturals! I’m less than impressed….
Aww…Crumpets is SO cute! I can’t wait to see it finished and adorning a sweet little girl. Great work!

Hi old SP! Love the pink Chibi! I used to have one but I traded to someone who wanted it more than me. Can’t wait to see your finished Crumpets.
