Irish Hiking Scarf
2006 @ 11:51 am
I finally gave my friend his scarf last night! As you can see, choosing this pattern was a no-brainer. Could Sean look any more Irish? Sean will become at uncle today if all goes according to plan, so I can’t claim that the smile is entirely due to the scarf! **edit: Sean is a brand spankin’ new uncle to his sister’s daughter, Veronica!**
He had a whopping 20 skeins of Tivoli wool sent to me from Ireland on his last trip there–only right that he should be the first recipient of a knit from this stash. This was also my first cable project and I really enjoyed it! The yarn was begging for cables, as you can see.

I’ve gotten word from Christine that it’s cool if I post progress shots of the Kaitlyn sweater. Unfortunately, my computer is offline at the moment so that’ll have to wait. Stay tuned for new tech developments at the Sassy house–I am posting this on the dl at work… shhhhhh.

The scarf looks perfect for him! You are progressing so fast on the Kaitlyn sweater, I regret implying that you should start knitting the maternity sweater before you run out of time… You’re probably working on the sleeves already!
Lovely Irish Hiking Scarf! Mine is muddling along as well. That yarn took the cables really, really nicely.
That scarf looks great! I wish I had friends who sent me large ammounts of yarn.
A funny little story that demostrates what a small world it really is: I was having lunch with a couple of friends who are in bands the other day and they were talking about touring, etc. One is in a band that toured the East Coast recently and one is in a band that wants to tour there this summer. So they start talking about how good shows were in New York. Then one says that when they go to New York they have to go to Red Bamboo because that place had the best food ever, and that even if you’re not vegan/vegetarian it is still great!

wow that’s a huge picture of sean
