FO Alert!
2006 @ 11:29 am
It’s a miracle, i actually finished something this weekend! And on time. My friend Michelle’s baby shower is this Saturday, and although I won’t be attending, I will send this gift along with my sister-in-law.
Ribbed Jacket (Debbie Bliss) & Hat (made up pattern, inspired by Erika Knight’s Lacy Bonnet)
Ribbed Cardigan:
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease in some Easter egg purple colorway that I can’t remember the name of.
Needles: US7 & US8, Denise circulars
Comments: I made this sweater is the 0-3 mos. size and it knit up very quickly! One afternoon, to be exact. I highly recommend the pattern, but caution on picking up enough stitches along the front so that it lays even. I had slipped the first stitch of every row and this made it harder to pick up enough stitches.
Poinsettia Hat for Baby:
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease in some Easter egg purple colorway that I can’t remember the name of.
Needles: US7 Denise circulars (magic loop)
Comments: I wanted a matching hat for this sweater, but felt that the whole gift needed to be girlied up a bit. So, I used Erika Night’s beautiful Lacy Bonnet patter as a jumping off point and winged it from there. I have written up instructions if you are interested! Just go to the Patterns section.
And now, please indulge me while I play with the macro mode on my still newish camera! This might be the first time that I am actually satisfied with my seaming!
This is the first side I did and it’s a little rough around the armpit, but I couldn’t be happier with the overall finished product.
The sleeve seams lined up perfectly on the second side. I read and re-read the instructions in my Nancie M. Wiseman, Knitters Book of Finishing Techniques and it paid off
If you want to see some baby cuteness, check out the additions to the gallery–it’s a onesie parade of my favorite onesie gifties!
