just like heaven…

My back and my hands are absolutely killing me, but I can’t stop knitting this up! It’s the wool I dyed at Marie’s party. Merino worsted from haindpaintedyarn.com. Dude, they have been out of worsted FOREVER. I guess it’s because this yarn is amazing.

I am completely addicted to it. You may recall (and I would give you mucho cred if you actually do) that my plan was to knit a Pinwheel Blanket with some sort of fancy edging to be determined. I am not really following the pattern at all as it turns out–conceptually at best, I guess. I had decided to make this a “labor” project since its just a lot of stockinette and I had a feeling that the yarn would be all buttery and easy to work with. Since starting the project (last night) I’ve started to rethink the labor part… I’m so pleased with how it’s turning out that I think I want to take the baby home from the hospital in it. I just don’t see myself finishing off some complicated lace edging in the hospital!

I also finally finished the doomed second angora pink bootee :) Pics of the bonnet and bootee set to come! I am internetless at home so please bear with me.

So it’s buttery but hard to knit with?! How deceiving! I’m sure it will look great and the baby will appreciate the softness.

I am soooo looking forward to Baby Sassy’s arrival. Wish I could meet her one day in person. I am sure she’ll be as “sassy” as her mommie! Wow, you are going to have a baby?!?! **sort of hitting me now**

oh, handpaintedyarn.com! so i e-mailed them a while back, and they said they won’t be getting the worsted back because of problems with their supplier, and referred me to malabrigo because it’s the same thing. so if you want worsted, malabrigo’s the only option, which stinks because it’s slightly more expensive.

congrats btw to mr. sassy on red bamboo brooklyn, btw!

The yarn is yummy and I’m sure the blanket will be. Le Petit Sassy will be so happy in it. Can’t wait to see how the colors play out in the pattern…

The yarn sure looks yummy! And it’ll be that much MORE yummy with a Sassy little girl swaddled all up inside it! You’d better knit like crazy to get that blanket finished in time. I’ll looking forward to seeing the finished Doomed Booties (not the most auspicious name for a baby gift, I must say).
:-)

I agree - lace edging and labor don’t sound like they’ll mix well at all. The yarn is absolutely beautiful!

I’m still kicking myself for not having bought a whole roomful of that stuff while it was still available. Of course it was too good to last. Fortunately, even with the higher Malabrigo prices, you still get a ton of yarn in amazing colors and it’s so sinfully delicious to knit that it’s worth it. Now I just need to find a source in Portland… I can’t wait to see Sasslet’s blankie!
