It was a good one! Mr. Sassy and I are now in the market for a camcorder, thanks to the Sassy in-laws :) and I’ve got some FO’s to show off! I don’t think I’ve ever finished two things at once before.

First, we have the Crusoe socks.

As a first pair, this pattern was great! I cast on 64 stitches, about 20 more than the pattern calls for, for Mr. Sassy’s foot. I winged the rest of the pattern changes and made out pretty well. The toes are a little long, but he doesn’t seem to mind. I definitely recommend this pattern, but I know there is a pattern correction that has not been posted to Knitty, so I advise care at the heel turn. I used Reggia sock yarn in Crazy Stripe that I picked up at a swap over the summer.

Next up, Clapotis 2.0.

I decided to make this pattern for my mother-in-law when I received two skeins of Cascade Sierra color #39 from my pal for SP5. It was the perfect color for her! It appears a little brighter than reality in this photo. I bought two more skeins to complete the project on #8 needles. I made no changes to the pattern and, like everyone else, highly recommend making one or 25! I believe the gift was a hit, although I am not sure how mom of Mr. Sassy feels about being blogged. She obligingly sat for the photo though and I am glad to have the record of my project.

Yesterday I also cast on for my first baby project (for my baby, that is). After deliberating over the Japanese patterns for a while, I recognized that need to CAST ON RIGHT NOW and remembered the Crumpets pattern I had purchased so long ago. I’m one pattern repeat in and it’s looking really cute! I’ll post progress when there is something to show…

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend!

more later…

Once again, One Fine Yarn has come through for me. I keep forgetting to save the ball band for my Sierra yarn; I keep thinking that this will be the last ball I need. I keep being wrong! I sent them an email asking them if, based on my email address, they might be able to tell me the color # I last order. They got back to me today, hurray!

ONE MORE SKEIN OF #39 CASCADE SIERRA!!!!!!!!!

And there it is, in case I need another one.

Lots of hot Spider action this weekend… better charge the batteries!

You bloglines folks, sorry that my “stash takes a vaca” post keeps popping up; don’t know what that’s all about.

Progress and Sassy Stuff

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Although that seems like ages ago. We Sassys spent the day with my family and the evening with Mr. Sassy’s family. It was a Long Day. But, we got to see Harry Potter! Yay. It was great. Many of the convoluted plot points were extracted from the movie version, but I think that’s necessary when the book you are writing a screenplay for exceeds 500 pages. The basic elements were there; that’s what counts! I thoroughly confused Mr. Sassy on the way from my parent’s place to his with all of my extra explanations for things. Frankly, some were necessary. Not being one for the book learnin’, Mr. Sassy has not read a single page of HP. I do wish they had left some of the house elf stuff in, particularly drunk Winky. In all, it was a great time! I am glad I reread the book before seeing it.

As for the knitting… I need to order ANOTHER skein for Clapotis2! That’s 4 skeins of Sierra going into this *sigh*. Oh well. The hat for my aunt is on hold since I think its knitting up too small. I also intend to complete the Baccarat ASAP! It requires a rip since I increased on the WS for the cowl. Dammit! Where’s my brain at?

I almost forgot! I have a new page on this site called Sassy Stuff. Please visit it to see what I’ve been up to in the Christmas Department.
